This garage had to match the main house exterior and includes real stone, synthetic stucco and cedar siding for the exterior finishes. My stonemason was able to match the stonework perfectly and we used the same stucco contractor as the builder did. He did such a great job I have been using him on all my other projects. Inside this garage is where the real surprises are. Because the space was to be primarily a woodshop, a lot of thought had to go into the design. Before the concrete floor was poured we installed ductwork for the sawdust collection system and electrical requirements. We installed radiant heat underneath a wood floor since he spends several hours a day working in the shop. A woodstove in the corner helps to get rid of some of the ‘scraps’ of lumber. We even installed a platform in the ceiling, which can be lowered to transport, and store seasonal items in the second floor when not in use.
